Deborah Jean Burke, 74, of Denton, passed peacefully while at home on May 8, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Born January 11, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Henry Blazejak and Henrietta Luberecki Blazejak.
Deborah grew up on the family farm in Denton. Deborah graduated from North Caroline High School in 1969 and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in English/Education from Salisbury State College. She spent many years teaching in the Caroline County school system.
Deborah married William Burke in 1984 and traveled with him for business. She later owned and operated Alexi's Bridals in Easton and Denton.
After her husband passed away, she relocated to live with her sister Diane. Deborah's vision impairment and eventual blindness did not stop her from enjoying life especially with trips to New York City, Broadway Plays, Cape May, and community events.
Deborah is predeceased by her husband William Burke and her infant sister Sandra. She is survived by: Stepbrother Francis Blazejak (Dolly); Brothers Michael Blazejak, Phillip Blazejak, and Richard Blazejak (Cynthia); Sisters Diane Blazejak and Victoria Blazejak (Phil); Niece Zoey Blazejak, Kristina Torre, and a Nephew Aaron Blazejak (Marcy); Stepdaughters Kathy Burke (Ken) and Laurie Paparo (Rick); And two grandchildren.
The family wants to thank Alexa Blazejak RN, Jackie Keating RN, and the entire staff of Compass Hospice for their care.
Per Deborah's request there will not be a service. Interment of cremation ashes will be later in The Veteran's Cemetery in Hurlock with her husband.
