Dennis McDonald, of Denton, MD, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family in his home on January 25,2025 at the age of 70.
Dennis was born October 10,1954 in Newburgh, New York to John & Dorothy McDonald. He attended Newburgh Academy where he graduated in 1973. After graduating he joined the U. S. Navy where he was a corpsman. While stationed in Annapolis, Maryland he met the love of his life, Michele, of 38 years. They settled in Crownsville and raised their two sons.
The oldest of 4 children, Dennis was a devoted son and big brother. He always made sure that his loved ones were cared for.
His hobbies included serving the community by volunteering at Anne Arundel County Volunteer Fire Departments. He was a life member of Herald Harbor Volunteer Fire Department, Crownsville, MD, where he served as Chief, Station Commander, Captain, and Lieutenant. He also served as a member of multiple fire departments, while in the fire service he received numerous awards such as Top Responder, Top Training, and the Edward S. Hall Jr. Memorial Fire/EMS/Community Service Award.
He is survived by his two sons, Chris McDonald (Erica) and Scott McDonald (Heather Charters); two brothers, Kevin McDonald (Tina) and Mike McDonald (Jeri); three grandchildren Collin, Lucas, and Aubree. He is preceded in death by his wife, Michele and brother, John.
