Gertrude Bolesta 95, formerly of Levittown, Pennsylvania passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Maryland on August 10, 2026. She was born on May 3, 1931,the daughter of the late Anthony Lenio and Stella Lenio. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley E. Bolesta in 2017 and her sisters Dorothy Cirko, Shirley Mockler and Lollie Blazaskie. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Shephard (Bolesta), son-in-law Thomas Shephard, grandson Dr, Mark Shephard, his wife Dr, Erin Shephard, and her great-grandson Jonah Shephard and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Gert grew up in the Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania area and moved to Bristol, Pennsylvania after marrying Stan in 1953. They eventually settled in Levittown and were the first owners of their Levitt home where she lived over 70 years. Gert worked as an administrative assistant inTrenton, NJ at Trentypo, Inc for over 30 years. She was an avid card player who participated in and sometimes hosted card games with friends at her home. Bowling was a second hobby,bowling three nights a week and serving as a secretary for many years for the bowling league.

In later years, she enjoyed attending the Falls Township Senior Citizens group. For many years she always looked forward to the annual Lenio Sisters family reunion which grew with members over the years.Gert was a long-time Phillies fan holding Sunday home game season tickets at Veteran’s Stadium. When she could no longer get to the games in person, you could bet that she was watching every game that was on television. She always said it was her father who gave her the love of baseball and she instilled that love for baseball in her grandson.

A short visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 9:30 AM at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery in Newtown, PA.In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Gertrude’s name to Lenape Valley Foundation, 621 N.
