Matthew Hamilton

Matthew Wallace Hamilton passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with illness. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Tam; his cherished mother, Celia; and his beloved son, Will, of Easton, Maryland. He will also be deeply missed by his brother, Andrew; his sister-in-law, Kim; and his nephew, Ian, all of whom live in Evergreen, Colorado.

Matt was born in Brisbane, Austrailia, on September 18, 1967. Soon after, his family relocated to Rumbai in central Sumatra, where his father worked as a petroleum geologist with American Overseas Petroleum. Two years later, the family returned to the United States and settled in Colorado. At the age of seven, Matt was diagnosed with AML leukemia, a life-altering illness- yet he made a miraculous recovery.

After graduating from Evergreen High School, Matt attended the Colorado Institute of Art. He later continued his studies at Loretto Heights College in Denver, and then at the California Institute of the Arts, known as the "Disney School". Matt went on to work in production for The Simpsons between 1990 and 1991, earning an Emmy, and later contributed to the production of Futurama.

Matt's life was full of exploration and creativity. He traveled extensively across Asia, including Japan and Vietnam, where he met and married his beloved wife, Tam. Together, they welcomed their son, William, a great source of joy. In 2006, Matt brought his family to Easton, Maryland, where they have lived ever since.

Throughout his life, Matt also lived in Winchester, England, and traveled across Europe, Austrailia, and Asia. He is deeply loved, and his absence is profoundly felt.
