Michael Zaczyk

Michael J. Zaczyk, 83, of Centreville, Maryland, formerly of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully under hospice care on June 13, 2025.

Born in Erie on August 17, 1941, Michael was the eldest of eleven brothers. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Sierra for over two years. After his service, he spent the majority of his career as a foreman at General Electric's Building 64. In later years, he channeled his love for craftsmanship into his own business, Lumberzack, offering custom wood cutting with his portable sawmill.

Michael was a man of great integrity and a deep love for his family. He is survived by his devoted daughter Andrea (Zaczyk) Alduino and son-in-law Frank; his cherished grandchildren, Anthony and Katie; and eight of his brothers: Dan, Pat, Gary, Roger, Mark, Joel, Philip, and Chris.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria (Hallett) Zaczyk; his parents, Michael and Leona Zaczyk; and two of his brothers, Timothy and Nathan.

In retirement, Michael and Gloria enjoyed traveling and spent their winters in Umatilla, Florida, making the most of their time together and exploring new places.

Michael's steady presence, quiet strength, and deep love for his family will be remembered always.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
