Richard "Rick" Duvall, born on July 16, 1959, sadly passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at home on December 16, 2025. Known for his quick wit and love of life, Rick wore many hats during his lifetime, but perhaps was best known for his drywall installation and finishing.
He was a dedicated Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, turning his passion for building and carpentry into a way of helping others. His favorite foods ranged from crab cakes, steak, chili, General Tso's chicken and shrimp fried rice and his love for dessert was marked by a soft spot for cheesecake and chocolate or any other desserts. Rick was a fan of simple comforts, enjoying a ice cold coca cola, chocolate milk, and egg nog.
His personal tastes covered a range of classic rock bands such as Jethro Tull particularly the song Aqualung, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The Doors. He was a fan of TV shows like Heartland, Andy Griffith, and The Rifleman, and enjoyed films such as Sargent York, Madea movies, and westerns. Rick was an outdoorsman at heart, with a love for fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. He also found peace in the mountains of West Virginia and Tennessee, and the Outer Banks, which were his favorite vacation spots.
Rick was a loving father to Richard Duvall Jr, and cherished father-in-law to Jennifer Duvall. beloved brother to Mack Duvall Jr of Pulaski, TN (Debbie), Onnie Duvall of Jacksonville, FL, and Michael Duvall of Baltimore, MD. He was a doting grandfather to Leeanne Seigler, Amethyst Seigler and his 3 great grandchildren Joshua Hurley Jr., Emerald Wilkinson, and McKenzie Wilkinson, along with his 2 nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Rita and Mack Duvall.
Known as a man of dry humor, Rick's favorite color was blue and he was a jokester who loved to make those around him laugh. He believed in the importance of sharing knowledge and spent time teaching others the art of carpentry.
As we say goodbye to Rick, we remember a man who lived his life with humor and generosity, and whose love for his family and friends knew no bounds. His legacy will continue to live on through the lessons he taught, the homes he built, and the laughter he shared.
